Landscapes

Central Switzerland boasts a wide variety of stunning landscapes:

Lake Lucerne, with its fjord-like landscape, mild climate and winding bays, is one of Switzerland’s most popular tourist destinations, nestled in a breathtaking mountain panorama.

In the Gotthard area, there are stone deserts reminiscent of Lord of the Rings.

And you would be hard pressed to name any other region in Switzerland with as many natural treasures as the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. Here you will find Switzerland’s largest and most numerous moor landscapes and striking karst terrain as well as flora and fauna of national and international importance.
Urban

Large housing estates, dense development from different eras, Bauhaus and Brutalist buildings, and modern urbanity, as exemplified by the football stadium in Lucerne or the ice hockey stadium in Zug.
The culture and convention center KKL Luzern, Jean Nouvels masterpiece is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne and has become one of the landmarks of the city.
Historic Buildings and towns districts

Central Switzerland offers a variety of urban and rural historical buildings and ensembles, streets and alleys.

The neo-baroque building of St.Charles Hall from 1925 is surrounded by a spacious sculpture park and decorated with large-format tapestries inside. The magnificent rooms are furnished with valuable furniture and paintings. The building is ideal for filming and has already been the backdrop for several film productions. We love to call it our Cinecittà.
Touristic icons

The Bürgenstock, the famous hotel mountain of Central Switzerland is probably the most well-known of many tourist hotspots and has a cinematic past. Stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Sean Connery, Charlie Chaplin and many others stayed or resided here in the 1950s.

The spectacular Hammetschwand elevator from 1905, the highest free-standing exterior elevator in Europe, is also the fastest and is reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower in its architecture.
Architecture

Brutalist tradition can be found in private, public and sacred buildings. In the case of the Mattli Antoniushaus, the architecture blends with nature creating a magical place.
Specials

We call them specials:

Unique locations, whether inside or outside, such as a former military bunker from the time of the Second World War, historic steamboats like the Schiller, which was named TREASURE OF EUROPEAN FILM CULTURE in summer 2024 or hidden treasures like the Golden Hall in Vitznau, which, designed for chamber music, it is a real gem.
